Home Business: Freelance Work
Doing freelance work is a terrific way for students, stay-at-home parents, and struggling artists to make money. Freelance work can be done full or part-time, as a sole source of income, or as a second job. As a freelancer, you decide what type of work schedule you want–days, evenings, or weekends. When you need extra money you can take in more work, and when you are busy doing other things you can work less. Thats the best thing about doing freelance work: you are your own boss so you call all the shots.
One type of freelance work that is becoming more and more popular is getting paid to fill out online surveys. All the surveys are completed over the Internet, so its possible to earn money anywhere that has computers and a web connection. Students, for example, can get paid to fill out surveys at home or at the campus library. Its great to be able to just pop into the library for an hour or so and make some real money!
Getting Started on Freelance Work
Any type of freelance work that is legitimate takes real time and effort on the part of the freelancer. Im a freelance writer/researcher, and while I enjoy all the perks of setting my own schedule and working from the comfort of my own home, I do have to log real hours of actual work. The same applies to people who get paid to fill out online surveys: yes it is an easy, convenient way to make money, but you still have to work for that money. The amount of time it takes to fill out a survey varies from company to company and survey to survey–some can be completed in as little as 5 minutes, some take closer to a half hour.
The best way to make the most of being a freelance survey taker is to do a little footwork up front. Finding a reputable paying surveys company to register with is not difficult–just look for one with a Safe and Secure ranking from the Internet Trade Bureau–and once you gain access to that companys database of several hundred companies you can begin the job in earnest. You will need to register with each company separately, so set aside some time to fill out online registration forms with about 50 to 100 companies right from the start. Once youve accomplished that (which isnt hard but does take a little time) the paying surveys will start rolling in.
